Automated Number Plate Recognition – ANPR

ANPR is a type of OCR (optical character recognition) technology, to read automatically the registration number and characters of vehicles from digital pictures. Reading the registration number means transforming the pixels of the digital image into the text of the number plate.

ANPR system allows versatile & client-specific applications such as comparison of number plates with a Blacklist, Whitelist, and Exclusion List. The setup of Blacklist is to avoid unauthorized vehicles attempt accessing the premises by sending a pop-up warning window to users through the ANPR solutions. Whitelist is mainly for access control. In addition to Blacklist and Whitelist, users can also set up an Exclusion List, is featuring to avoid misreading frontal vehicle brand logo as registration plates.

Not only users can setup various lists of all kinds of licence plate reading applications, but also Cavendish offers “Recognition Rate Filtering” function to minimize the chances that unclear images/motion blur due to vehicle moving. With our ANPR solutions, users can set up their default total length and font size of plate numbers and letters in order for receiving high recognition rate.*¹

Infrared Illuminator – IR

IR cameras are devices which emit light in the infrared spectrum. They can be active devices which emit their own infrared light like various objects or passive devices which reflect the infrared light which falls on them. One of the major application is in night vision cameras.  The infrared illuminator incorporated in the night vision camera is actually an IR LED which emits light in the infrared band.

This infrared light is reflected by objects and is collected by the camera lens. Infrared imaging is not only used for surveillance but also for applications like checking heat insulation of buildings, checking thermal pollution of water bodies etc.  The IR Illuminator can also be used in CCTV cameras.*²

“We were in need of an upgrade to a failing analogue CCTV system. Cavendish were chosen as they are a local company that responded quickly to our requirements and came highly recommended. The demonstration of the cameras proved beyond our expectations with images were extremely sharp and clear. Cavendish installed and commissioned the system in a timely and sympathetic manner in accordance with the demanding workings of the college.” – BHASVIC

Our encoders convert a standard analogue video feed into a digital stream, allowing you to send the captured digital images over an IP network. This then allows you to view live images on your IP network using video management software.

    Access Control/Door Entry

All businesses, whether small, medium or large, have assets that need to be protected from theft. There is also the issue of protecting staff and their property. It is common in buildings that are secured by locks and keys for doors to be left unlocked all day. This opens up the possibility of opportunist theft and malicious damage. Access control/door entry enables you to control who has access to your building.
