Cavendish hosted another successful technology seminar this week on Disaster Recovery Planning at our offices in Newhaven.
The event highlighted the risks that businesses face from natural and man-made disasters, the impact that various scenarios can have on a business and the technologies available that can enable a business to continue to communicate with customers and suppliers when problems occur.
The presentations were split between the various consultants at Cavendish and feedback from attendees on the day was very positive.
Attendees took away brochures on disaster recovery planning, SIP trunks and a template for producing a communications disaster recovery plan, as well as an emergency power pack which can be used in the event of a power failure to charge a mobile device, tablet or laptop. There was also a prize draw for attendees for a tablet computer, which was won by Ben Bisset from the Guild of Master Craftsmen (pictured with Cavendish MD David Moorat).
Commenting on the event MD David Moorat said, “With businesses becoming increasingly reliant on cloud based services, email and the internet for day to day operations, having a disaster recovery plan for your communications is critical. Technologies are now available at price points that are lower than most people imagine, that can greatly reduce the potential impact and cost, of an essential service failure or disaster happening. Hopefully the people that attended today’s seminar are now aware of the risks to business continuity and the services that are available to mitigate them.”
