Cavendish is approaching its 30th anniversary early in 2020. Therefore, one of the ways, our directors have decided to celebrate thirty years of being part of the business community in Sussex is to give 12 days of volunteering over the next 12 months.
They are looking for 12 employees to step forward and volunteer for a day.
The charity might be a big national organisation, a local community group or a sports club – but they must be a charitable organisation that is able to use a volunteer for a day.

December 2019: John is helping East Sussex Deaf Children’s Society at The Beacon
Our lovely and always busy Cabling Manager, John is the Vice Chairman at East Sussex Deaf Children’s Society (ESDCS) and decided to help them out on a weekday.
He took part in raising funds for ESDCS by selling ‘Win A Car’ raffle tickets at The Beacon in Eastbourne. All money raised on the day was given back to ESDCS.
Tickets were being sold for £1 and the top prize was a brand-new hybrid Suzuki Ignis 1.2 Dualjet Hybrid SZ3 manual car worth £12,999. Other prizes include 50-inch TV from, two family tickets for Cineworld, an electronics bundle and goodie bags.
“I enjoyed taking part in this fundraising activity as I’m already involved with this charity, it’s really close to my heart due to a member of my family suffering from deafness.”
-John Deakin, Cabling Manager at Cavendish Communications
About the East Sussex Deaf Children’s Society
ESDCS is a local group affiliated with the National Deaf Children’s Society and is run by volunteers. Since its inception in the 1980s, they have worked hard to provide support where it’s most needed.
Their team relies exclusively on volunteer help. And remember, a little often goes a long way.
They’re always happy to welcome new volunteers who would like to dedicate some of their time to charity. If you’d like to lend a hand, please don’t hesitate to contact them, new members are always welcome.
