Lampons First to Back Cavendish Fundraising Scheme
Cavendish Communications, donated their first cheque to CLIC Sargent this week as a result of their new fundraising scheme.
Lampons, the independently-owned property group which operates a network of sales and lettings offices across the county – has become the first organisation to sign up to the new scheme designed to raise ongoing funds for children’s cancer charity CLIC Sargent.
The initiative, pioneered by Cavendish Communications, one of the South East’s largest telecoms providers, gives companies and other commercial users the opportunity to benefit from highly competitive communication costs and see a proportion of the financial savings donated to a worthy cause on a monthly basis.
Cavendish, which employs over 50 staff at its headquarters in New Road, Newhaven, came up with the concept as a fitting way to celebrate its 20th anniversary of trading.
Cavendish currently provides high quality, cost effective telephony, IT and data management solutions to more than 2,500 commercial customers. Yet it firmly believes that many organisations are paying other suppliers too much for similar services. To make the point, Cavendish is offering potential new customers a free communications review and where savings are identified, the organisation can switch to Cavendish, save money and donate a percentage on to CLIC Sargent.
Having been a Cavendish customer for a number of years, Lampons’ estate agency didn’t qualify to take part in the scheme, but another arm of its business did. Cavendish took up the challenge of streamlining the available budget and Lampons was more than willing to see part of the savings passed on to CLIC Sargent
Robin Lampon hopes other companies will be quick to support the Cavendish Communications initiative:
“We’re a privately owned group and run our businesses very efficiently. This scheme really appealed to us because it gave us the opportunity to streamline projected costs for a new area of our business without compromising the quality of our communications. It’s really rewarding to know that as well as us saving money, CLIC Sargent will receive a donation each month to support their essential activities.”
CLIC Sargent is a charity committed to helping children and young people survive cancer and make the most of their lives. It provides clinical, practical and emotional support to young people with cancer and their families, in hospital and in the community.
Every day 10 families are told that their child has cancer. Diagnosis often comes as a shock. Treatment usually starts straightaway and can last up to three years. As the children’s cancer charity, CLIC Sargent is there… with clinical, practical and emotional support, every step of the way.
Cavendish MD, Lawrence Davison has championed the initiative and hopes it will prove popular with local and national businesses.
“Rather than dressing up for a day and raising a single cheque, this initiative generates an ongoing monthly donation to CLIC Sargent on behalf of each new customer that signs up to the scheme. This should generate a significant income to what is a very worthwhile charity.”
