iPhone Prize Winner Announced

Retired Royal Navy Lieutenant Commander Tony Ford was announced as the winner of the World Cup prize draw iPhone 4 this week.

The presentation took place alongside HMS WARRIOR 1860 in Portsmouth’s Historic Dockyard, where Tony Ford now works for the Warrior Preservation Trust having served in the Royal Navy for 32 years. As well as being a major visitor attraction WARRIOR, which dates back to 1860, provides a superb historical setting for corporate and private events, as well as being one of the most unique and sought after wedding venues.

The prize draw competition had been running on the Cavendish website for the duration of the Football World Cup Tournament in South Africa and involved participants finding five world cup footballs that had been hidden on the web pages.

The competition coincided with the launch of the new iPhone 4 from Apple which drew much media attention last month and generated significant interest. The new iPhone forms part of the business mobile solutions line up at Cavendish, along with the Blackberry range and many other business mobiles.

Commenting on winning the prize, Tony Ford said “I’m really pleased to win this prize as my last two mobile phones have been damaged working aboard the HMS Warrior. I’ll be able to give back the mobile phone I have borrowed now...”

Cavendish has been pleased with the response to the competition and is already planning similar activities in the future. Talking about the competition, Director David Moorat commented, “The competition has been about raising awareness of the many business communications solutions we offer at Cavendish and judging by the number of correct entries submitted, we have achieved our goal.”
