Cavendish School of the Future Project Goes Live

The new Bexhill Hill School branded “The School of the Future” opened in Bexhill on Sea, East Sussex this month.

Cavendish Communications were responsible for the cabling and Mitel unified communications infrastructure, installing 100 telephones across the campus buildings.

Cavendish has provided the flexibility for 250 teachers and staff to ‘hot desk’ across the site using any telephone to make and receive calls and retrieve voicemail messages.

Teachers are sent an email whenever somebody leaves them a voice message so that even if they are working from home, they are notified by email when they have a message waiting for them at the school. A far cry from a post-it pad in the staff room...

Commenting on the installation Cavendish Sales Director, David Moorat said, “This has been an exciting project for us to work on and has given Cavendish a chance to demonstrate some of its advanced IP communications capabilities. We have delivered communications for the future, to one of the schools for the future.”
