Why We Support Build Africa

Cavendish Build Africa Charity Scheme

Cavendish Communications offers new customers the opportunity to reduce the cost of their business calls and in return, we will agree to pay a percentage of the saving, each month, to the Build Africa charity.

About Build Africa

Build Africa works exclusively in rural areas of Uganda and Kenya to help young people escape poverty through education and income generation.

What they do

In education they work within local development plans to:

  • Help build the capacity of schools, communities and local government staff to work together to improve data collection, planning, monitoring and evaluation at school level, resulting in a ‘school development plan';
  • Provide training and mentoring of school management committees for better school governance;
  • Carry out teacher training;
  • Construct classrooms, water supplies, toilets, teacher accommodation, staff rooms, resource centres, as well as provide books, desks, etc.

They pay special attention to ensuring that communities understand their right to a good education for their children. They also work hard to ensure girls access the education they are entitled to and work in the most isolated schools, which government bodies often find hard to reach.

About the Cavendish scheme

The Cavendish charity initiative enables new customers to benefit from lower costs for their communications, whilst having a percentage of any savings made, donated to the About Africa charity. A true win:win scenario.

What do you need to do?

All you need to do is allow one of our communications specialists to review you current communications set up and we can let you know how much you could save and how much would be donated to Build Africa.

For more information about our charity initiatives or to book a communications review, call us on 08453 055 655.
